Kraken Installs Crypto OTC Guru as head of its new Bitcoin operation
Kraken, the U.S cryptocurrency exchange platform has hired Kevin Beardsley to head its Bitcoin operation. Before his new role, Beardsley was the managing director of UK-based OTC trading platform B2C2.
Kraken has seen a tremendous rise in its volume after it passed the $2.5 billion mark back in June.
Beardsley confirmed his new position last week, and he had this to say, “ Being a pretty wide range of different types of participants, I have a pretty good understanding of what people are looking for and how to meet those needs.”
Kraken acquired its new Bitcoin features operation at the turn of the year. The operation will be handled from London for now.
Kraken has shown great promise in bringing its vision into fruition, by raising close to $13 million in funding just last month alone. The exchange platform hopes to increase the array of features options for cryptocurrency. Kraken is currently following the footsteps of other platforms like Huobi and Binance.
Other platforms are making wholesale changes around their operation. One of such platform is Bakkt, and if reports are accurate, it will beginning testing of its futures product in the coming days.
On the other hand, although B2C2 may have lost Beardsley, they have also scored a win for themselves by getting Rob Catalanello on their team. If all goes according to plan, the UK-based company will make a push in the U.S market in the foreseeable future.
